Earlier today, I had a delightful and stimulating conversation with a new buyer who is trying to fulfill a dream, outside of the crazy urban atmosphere that Beaverton, a suburb of Portland is becoming. His quest is to find a bit of property in a more rural setting where the pace of living is more relaxed, surrounded by countryside, rather than wall-to-wall cars, and ever-increasing population in his current neighborhood on the southwest side of Portland.
Having grown up in Manhattan, in NYC he, his wife and children are on a quest to find just the right fit, after being in several places, including Seattle, which just wasn't right. He's got this bug that bit him and is seeking a fix to the "need" he has.
They want to be outside more than inside. Smaller square footage means more outdoor time. And a recreational drug that is completely safe, and NATURAL! He googled and found Fishhawk Lake.

I loved our conversation, and he and I had the commonality of both being from New York and loving the opposite effect of the Pacific Northwest and what it does to soothe the soul of a seeker of more land and less people.
Towards the end of the conversation, we somehow headed down the path of this being something of a recreational drug, being able to walk for miles in the woods, head for the beach in an hour, have fresh clean air and be on pristine waters. We came to the mutual understanding of the true meaning of our need for this recreational drug! And he summarized it nicely. He said, isn't that just like us being from the east coast, to take real estate and make it into a drug deal?!
Yup, all natural, completely legal and you might get addicted, but you won't need an intervention!
(And I'm getting them their fix next week!)
