Home staging is the process of sellers preparing their home to make it appealing to potential buyers and optimizing visual appeal. We can all agree many consumers are propelled by visualization. That’s the core element of every marketing campaign in any industry. Colors & visual aesthetics create an emotional urge to buy something. This was often overlooked in the real estate industry but is now used often and the home staging business continues to grow.
Is it important? You can answer this by asking yourself what made you buy the home you’re selling? Most buyers make up their mind within 10 seconds of entering a home, so first impressions are most definitely important when in residential real estate. In addition, vacant homes are harder to sell because potential buyers have a hard time visualizing themselves in the space. We want to walk in and see ourselves living there. Staging has also been instrumental in getting the price you’re asking for.
Almost every real estate agent will agree that having a home clean, free of clutter and fixing any major aesthetic flaws will help sell a home. But, more are catching on to the idea of having the seller spend a bit more to have the home professionally staged and sell it even quicker.
The power of home staging inspired me to get a design certification and add this as a service to my clients. Check my blog for future home staging tips, or call me with any questions. 305.924.2610.
