Growing up in Silicon Valley, one of our family's Christmas traditions was watching the Nutcracker Ballet.
As a young girl, I took ballet lessons at Los Gatos Ballet School, owned and run by Paul Curtis and Shawn Stuart.
They put on what is now known as the San Jose Dance Theatre's Nutcracker Ballet. There was quite a bit of excitement to see the performance as we often knew other students and teachers performing in it.
