Can We Really Have Peace In A Complicated World?

This seems to be the month that pastors, appropriately, choose to give sermons on the subjects of Hope, Joy, Peace and Love.

Last week I was in Spokane and attended church at Mirabeau Chapel. The subject was Peace.  My favorite quote from that sermon:
"Peace is not the absence of crisis.  
Peace is the presence of Christ"

Today, I attended the service at Sage Hills Church in Wenatchee.  Again, the subject was Peace.  My favorite line from that sermon:
"Peace is defined as being present in the presence of Jesus."

Life is going to be filled with twists and turns... some crisis and a lot of inconvenience.  Yet, in spite of it all, we can be at peace in our life by keeping Christ at the center of how we act, react and navigate through each day.

May peace be with you throughout this year and the new year to come.

Thanks for the re-blog - it was peaceful to read. I was filled with peace at Church Services today. They had a person play the harp, there were trumpets and horns and organ too. The music was superb! It felt like a concert to our Lord and we all got to participate by soaking in all that peace and joy.
