On December 23, 2016, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sales gained 5.2% to an annual rate of 592,000 homes in November of 2016 from 563,000 homes in October of 2016, and rose 16.5% from November of 2015 an annual rate of 508,000 homes. The median sold value of new home was $305,400, while the average sales price was $359,900 in November of 2016. There were estimated 250,000 new houses for wesale a 5.1 months supplies of available inventory at the end of November of 2016.
Regionally, in the Northeast new homes sales unchanged 0.0% in November of 2016 from October of 2016, and gained 22.2% from November of 2015. In the Midwest new homes sales jumped 43.8% in November of 2016 from October 2016, and rose 39.4% from October of 2015. In the South new homes sales decreased 3.1% in November of 2016 from October 2016, and increased 13.4% from November of 2015. In the West new homes sales rose 7.7% in November 2016 from October 2016, and higher 10.8% from November of 2015.
