My neighbor hates geese. I have no idea why, but the sight of a goose on his lawn is enough to send him into a rage. That's kind of a problem because we live on a lake and have a lot of geese who live here year-round too. Most of us enjoy having them around, but not this guy - he's been reported to the wildlife department several times for harassing them.
The geese aren't dumb and they pretty much stay away from his place. We might have a dozen or so foraging on our lawn at times, but they won't cross onto his property at all.
Until he goes out of town. It's magic, watching it happen every time. They must have a special sentry goose who keeps an eye on his family, because as soon as he leaves town, this happens:
We never see this many geese staying on a lawn for days at a time anywhere else around here, but they have been pooping all over his place since he left for the holidays, and have apparently called in reinforcements to help decorate.
Sweet goose revenge.
