Two Shining Stars Shoot Off to a Galaxy Far Far Away

I knew about Carrie Fischer but didn't know her mom died the next day. What a family tragedy. They really were brilliant stars and I do believe the sky will be shining brighter now that they are together.

That was quite the tragedy!  And I can only imagine how hard it way for Debbie Reynolds to hear the news.  A

We hear time and time again about a passing of a loved one and another passes a short time later.  I hope Todd is able to deal with this pain of losing his sister and mother.

I heard about Debbie Reynolds last night and thought how said it was.  Her exit, stating she wanted to be with Carrie, then passing, is like a movie scene.  Unreal.

B~double shock. Your title and sentiments were perfect. I'm sure the Acadamies will have a special tribute devoted to these two lovelies. I am so very happy to have seen Carrie do a comeback and I have read that she and her mom did a documentary scheduled to come out in 2017. 

P.S. Can you imagine how hard this is on the son?? My heart goes out to him and other family who have to be hit with this.

It's hard to even begin to understand the "why" of this happening ... or just how the remaining family must feel, Belinda Spillman ... very sad ...

Hi Belinda - Carrie Fisher always said that she wanted her epitaph to read that she was drowned in moonlight, strangled by her bra. And someone tweeted last night that fans of Postcards from the Edge would darkly appreciate her mother's upstaging. They will both be greatly missed.

I guess it's true that people can die from a broken heart!  Several talk shows today, touched on the topic!

And her final words to her son were just that she wanted to go be with Carrie.  May they both find peace

All so sad Belinda. It brings a tears to my eyes. I personally love old movies and we the tragedy here is almost too much.

I watched a youtube of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher on the Oprah Show. It was riveting and sad. They talk a lot about their lives and sorrows. You know, Belinda Spillman, we watch the movies and envy the stars but there are skeletons in their closets worse than probably the average citizen can imagine. I feel for Carrie's daughter Billie Lourd who was chosen to play in Star Wars the Force Awakens - and to think she got the part and they didn't even know she was Carrie's daughter. 

Carrie Fisher was in the last frame in the last Star Wars movie, Rogue One, which we just saw here in Hawaii a few days before Christmas. That's how I will always remember her now. And Debbie Reynolds in Singing in the Rain, just doesn't get any better than that. I think that's the movie that made her a star.

Very sad indeed. I saw Debbie Reynolds at the Greenbrier with many other stars who showed up for the big Casino opening. Happy New Year, Belinda.

It was sad that is happened so close together and this week between Christmas and New Years.
