NYC's Ball Drop has nothing on PA's weird drops

I thought Kennett Square was the only unusual "drop" with a giant stainless steel mushroom and the crowd singing "Sweet Caroline" at midnight, but the local Kennett Paper listed more Pennsylvania oddities, for example:

 

Pittsburgh- a 1000 lb. illuminated ball made of recycled materials, symbol of this "green" city

 

Carlisle-a 50 lb. button (?) accented with LED lights

 

Mechanicsburg- a wrench (not sure how big it will be) for the settlers who repaired 19th C wagonsKennett mushroom

 

Harrisburg-a giant strawberry falls from the downtown Hilton

 

Hershey- You know it had to be a Hershey's kiss, followed by fireworks

 

Lancaster- a red rose symbolic of the War of the Roses between Lancaster and York clans

 

York- What else but a white rose?

 

Lancaster- the famous Pennsylvania Dutch treat, an 18 ft. Lebanon Bologna

 

Bethlehem- home of marshmallow Peeps, a giant Peep

 

Duncannon- a 10 ft. lightning Glider sled (manufactured here from 1904 to 1990}

 

Pottsville-a Yuengling beer bottle in honor of the oldest brewery in America

 

Beavertown-Bucky the Beaver suspended by a 75 ft. ladder

 

McClure- in honor of their famous bean soup festival (?) a kettle

 

Dillsburg- a giant pickle descends into a barrel, followed by fireworks
