Snow is in the forecast and the Kentlands Citizens Assembly is again seeking volunteers to help elderly, disabled or ill residents with their snow removal tasks. The following announcement is being circulated by the home owners association. Please make an effort to know which of your neighbors may need assistance and then lend a hand with snow removal.
Shoveling snow from the sidewalks, steps and garage entrances is a great way to pay it forward in our home community. Heart attacks are common at this time of the year when seniors try to do more than they should.
It's that time of the year again, the Kentlands Citizens Assembly (KCA) is looking for volunteers to help shovel snow for those residents who are unable to do it themselves. If you are willing and able to shovel, please e-mail Sandy Al-Nazer in the Clubhouse at firstname.lastname@example.org to place your contact info on a list to be given to those who need this service. Please only sign up if you are willing to shovel free of charge.
By the same token, if you are a resident and need or would like help shoveling but are available to pay for that service, please help us reserve our volunteers for those who can't.
If you are a student and need SSL hours, shoveling can qualify you for that. Pick up a form in the Clubhouse and get the person you're shoveling for to sign off that you shoveled and for how long.
As the Clubhouse is not open in times of extreme inclement weather, please anticipate your need and e-mail early for volunteer contact info.
