The moment you pull in the drive you feel it.  You are GLAD you are home.  You've earned this...from your incredibly private pool area with a full bar including a television, refrigerator, and sink to the constant parade of yachts you view from most rooms.  This home was originally built for the Coca Cola family.  It is situated in the most desirable section of Lighthouse Point.  Your view across the way is stunning ocean front homes and, when she is home, the Gallant Lady, a famous yacht around the area.  You are only minutes away from the Hillsboro Inlet which leads you to the ocean and you can see the Lighthouse from your backyard.  Three of the bedrooms are VERY large with considerable closet space.  The fourth bedroom makes for a perfect office or maids quarters.  The living area is very open, tastefully decorated, and well suited for entertaining.  It is sure you will want to have a house warming party immediately.  What can you say?  Everyday is like being on vacation when you live in this home.

Lighthouse Point is a small community and does not live under the confines of gates or Homeowner's Associations.  There is incredible police and fire departments.  The city offers a broad array of community functions and events that will get you out to meet the neighbors.  You would not at all be surprised to see a few famous people or sports icons.  You certainly may want to join or visit the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club or the several parks that the city offers.  There are public raquetball, tennis, and basketball courts and because much of the city has sidewalks they are easily walked to.  The speed limits are at a minimum to protect it's many walkers, joggers, and cyclists.

31st Avenue is a well known address about town.  The south end of this portion of the 31st Ave is a private peninsula, home of the famous Cap's Place Restaurant.  Originally built from a barge which was stripped of its iron fittings and the cabin and machinery were removed and sold as scrap. Dade County pine was used to build an enclosed structure on top of the barge. It opened 1929 as a private membership club where patrons could enjoy unique food, drink liquor, and gamble.  Al Capone was a regular.  Some of the other famous diners were Winston Chruchill, Franklin D Roosevelt, Joe DiMaggio, Susan Hayward, Casey Stengel, Jack Dempsey, James Montgomery Flagg, Kate Smith, Myrna Loy, Henry Flagler, George Jessel, George Harrison and the Vanderbilt Family.  You can only arrive by ferry unless you can walk.  You can walk there.

This is by far one of the lowest price homes on the Intracoastal Waterway in Lighthouse Point.  Don't miss this incredible opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.

Lifestyle In Lighthouse Point

Lighthouse Point is a small town that wishes to remain so. The leisurely lifestyle appeals to its residents and they have no need to be concerned about future expansion. Tucked in among many other communities, it cannot expand. Any worry about the threat of amalgamation into a larger entity is being diminished by preserving city certification. Through providing full service and continuing to work closely with the Florida and Broward Leagues of Cities and other appropriate government agencies, the City is optimistic for the future.

Characterized by informal affluence and a leisurely pace, the attractive neighborhoods are quiet, tree shaded, and water-laced. Of the residences, 80% are single family homes, many of which front on the City's 18 miles of waterways.

The east door of Lighthouse Point opens to the Intracoastal Waterway, sitting under the beam of the famed Hillsboro Lighthouse which has stood constant guard over the Hillsboro Inlet since 1906 and for which the City is named. Federal Highway, with its shopping centers, restaurants, and other business establishments, is the west door. Approximately 20 acres of parksand mini-parks and 13 miles of sidewalks/bike paths symbolize the nature of community life. Streets wind and twist and there are many cul-de-sacs.

Incorporated in 1956, the City has few remaining vacant lots today. Better than 95% of the City is developed and most homes fall into the upper-medium and top-price range.
