It seems like so many of my family or friends are suffering from allergies or colds these past few weeks. They are self-medicating with Claritin, throat sprays, and cough drops.
However, symptoms sometimes provide an indication about whether it's an allergy or a cold.
If the bug seems to be progressive, rather than having symptoms come at once, it's probably a cold.

It can be tricky sometimes, Paul! I have had symptoms similar to a cold (morning congestion and cough) which have lasted a few months. I'm now more convinced it is allergy from sleeping with my two cats!

That is a great chart, if people are medicating improperly, it will likely cause more harm than help, haha. If we take care of our bodies properly, our body will take care of pretty much anything without needing medication, in my opinion.

Great Post! Haven't had a cold or flu this year but with this Kentucky weather 60* Yesterday and 30* tonight Suppose to get 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow!!
I'm sure that will bring a lot of colds and flu

I'm not sure I would have been able to tell what I had recently based on this chart. But I took some home remedies and most of the symptoms are gone. I probably had allergies on top of a cold.

Based on your chart, I must have an allergy but I am not sure of the cause.
I have had a cold and even the doctor told me it would pass in 10 days to two weeks. That doesn't make it any easier to cope with it.
Hey what about when your nose starts to run for no reason other than stress? I often think I'm getting a cold and go through a pile of Kleenix but it's stress. I do have allergies to spring pollen in Sacramento. Hello Flonase. I pump that crap for 4 months every year!
I've been holding my breath around here. It seems like everywhere I go someone is coughing. I went to my dentist and just before she was through I heard her sniffles and coughing. I really think people need to take your advice and if they are sick stay home!!!
I asked her, do you have a cold and she replied, no I have allergies. I wasn't convinced.

Hi Myrl- I am so glad that Debbie Reynolds reblogged your post. I have taken my 2 daily nasal sprays, 2 oral inhalers, a netty pot, and now tonight, I've had to turn to my nebulizer. Ugh.
Having allergies it is a life time battle, cats, dogs, pollen all battling every day. I like the chart Myrl Jeffcoat
