Not So Wordless Wednesday: A Rainy Day In Santa Barbara

By

This is a shot of a rainy morning in Los Padres National Forest, where Cold Springs Tavern, our favorite weekend breakfast place, is located.  Today, as we came out of the Worker Bee cafe in Carpinteria, our local favorite breakfast place, we were greeted with light rain.

It looks like we have "weather" again here!  After having lived through a long drought, we appreciate every drop of rain that comes our way.  I am happy to report that for the last 6 weeks we have not had to water our garden, we have had rain at least once a week to take care of that chore.

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron --- rain is suppose to be hitting our area later this evening or tomorrow but if you're feeling some drizzle, it may be arriving earlier than "predicted".

Sybil Campbell Given that California is the largest agricultural state in the US, and we send produce nationally and internationally, rain does impact us from an economic standpoint.  Our reservoir in the wine country was 100% full in 2007, and was at 7%, so you can understand our jubilant mood over the rain that is falling.  A

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® Thank you for your comment.  One of the golf courses that is being remodeled with new traps and obstacles must be breathing a sigh of relief that they don't have to tax their wholly owned Artesian well for water.  A

It is such a blessing to finally have some much needed relief out your way.  We are having confused snow flurries today.  They start for a few minutes and then stop.  Crazy Colorado weather.

Happy to see you getting the rain you need. We had a very mild 45 degree day today...lots of melting going on.

Problem is....it's going to freeze and that's not good.

Robert Bob Gilbert it is going to take a while to fill that reservoir, and rain continues to be in the forecast for Saturday, and next week, a big storm front is passing through.  It has made a market difference in the greenery around town. A

Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert we got quite a bit of rain the last two days.  Late afternoon, we went to the beach just to walk around the sidewalks as it was too wet in the sand, and the sun felt so good and welcome...I am happy with the rain, and more is on the way for Saturday.  A
