Not a day goes buy that someone who is looking for a home doesn't ask me about closing costs, how are they calculated, what are they, what are bank fees, how does a mortgage work, what information will I need, why is the bank asking me all these questions, why is it their business, why can't I afford that home, and on and on and on. The CFPB has put together a great little (using the term loosely since it's 26 pages) booklet that answer many of these questions and can put your mind at ease.

It's because we don't want to break your heart, and to be frank, we also don't want to waste your time and ours expending energy only to find out that the price point just really won't work - or in some cases, you really could have bought more of what you considered as a dream home - or that fixer upper you had your heart set on!
