Speechless Sunday The Impressionists

 I love the Impressionist Period in art. I think it was one of the more interesting periods of life. If there is an exhibit I try to go. My favorite aritist is Monet I think he was so talented. I was lucky enough to get to go to his home in Giverny. These works of art were hanging in The Chicago Art Institute a trip we took a few years ago! Patricia Kennedy  and  Endre Barath, Jr. were both talking about Impressionism and Giverny  in their posts so it got me thinking about some pictures I had taken. The Impressionists are also one of my favorite groups of painters, but there are many others I enjoy as well, including abstract expressionism. And what a treat to see these paintings in person and not just a book!

I think the Impressionists are universally loved.  I would be hard pressed to select my favorites, that is for sure. It is a treat to see them in person.

Monet is my favorite impressionist too.  I remember the water lily pictures that Pat Kennedy took at Giverney!

Yolanda, I do love walking through Monet's house.  They said the paintings on the walls were all reproductions made by art students.  I didn't care .  They were fun to look at.
