Voicemail is not dead...Leave a Message

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Homes By Cross, Inc.

Ever made the call and a message came in...

"Sorry the person you wanted to talk to is UNAVAILABLE ...Please leave a message..."

So many people just hang-up as they just don't have any energy left after dialing the number to verbally leave a message.

The poor tired person wore out their finger and were left breathless. No energy left....They just hung up.

Exhausted, the caller deems the exercise fruitless and then musters up the strength and will power to make another call ....doomed to the dreaded voicemail answer.......

The failed logic continues to memo that you would do a text message later....and you don't do that either.

Welcome to "Faliure to Communicate" 101 in the sales book of the late Strother Martin of "Cool Hand Luke"

You know the answer.

The best part..... If someone calls you and leaves a "voicemail"..

Sales 101 mandates you call them back quickly. But your voicemail box is full and you missed that effort too.

Your life is relegated to text and emails. You wish you were getting the sales as that other person.

Solution:

If you leave a message or answer your phone, the odds are in your favor.

In this world of technical innovation, with instantant everything, old school says " call the the client", leave a voicemail, and answer the phone.

I do text.....but  I have a CELL PHONE to call and answer.

Just sayin'

While I think it's important to tailor the way we communicate to the client - and these days it seems like the text is the favorite these days. I agree that it's important to answer the phone when you can.

Unfortunately, we have to adapt to the market. Far too many in the younger generations rarely check voicemail and answer the phone even less. I like to try multiple methods until I discover the best method for that individual.

If you miss a call and they don't leave a message, go ahead and call back anyway.

What makes me roll my eyes- when I call someone, leave a message, and they call me back without bothering to listen to my message and I have to repeat myself. Sigh.

My problem these days with voicemail is the shear number of spam calls I get, not just from out of state area codes but using the Google numbers locally to spread crap.
