It is 2017. New year, new expectations, and new realities we will have to deal with. We have new President, a lot of hopes, a lot of changes coming… And while no one knows exactly what is ahead of us, we can still look back at how condo-hotels fared in 2016 and see if there are any signs of a trend that may get noticeable in 2017.

I usually write an annual blog trying to look at the condo-hotel market. When you are in in your daily routine, it is easy to lose sight of a bigger picture.It is easy not to notice the trend, when what you see are microscopic changes. But when you look at a year, and compare with other years, the signs get clearer... And it is important for every professional.

So I try to search for the trend and even do a foolish thing trying to predict where the market goes and how this affects condo-hotels. So, I wrote about the state of the market of condo-hotels now.

We looked at 2015 and 2016. There are obvious changes. The inventory of condo-hotel unit is down. It is actually at its lowest level I have ever seen. By "old" standards it should have been the sign of a crazy hot market, but it is not... yet

Hi Jon - That's an interesting analysis, and a fascinating million dollar question. It's always tempting to find similarities with past conditions, but necessary to keep in mind how much is also different. I hope this year is a very busy and productive one for you.

Dick Greenberg - wow, it is not very often that reader follow the link, and you do.

There was a time, when I thought that I know it all. That there are systems, and all I needed to do is to catch the pattern and then it will always be applicable.

Now, I know that every rule I knew can and was broken, and every system, no matter how good it was, is ridden with exceptions and variations... So, I have more million-dollar questions than answers :)
