A 40 Year Old Horse and His Best Friend
We normally think of a dog as man's best friend. That is not always the case as you can see in this instance. A 40 year old harness race horse was retired to a farm after living a full life. (For those of you who are not aware, the average age horses live is 25-28 years. Forty years to a horse is the equivalent to 125 years in humans.) He was not doing well, but it was not because of his health. It was because he was lonesome.
Along came Donnie MacAdams, the caretaker of the farm. He and Waco Hanover formed a close bond. You could say that they have become best friends and that they saved each other's lives.
