Steve's Coats For Kids Collection Drive In Ballantyne, NC Extended

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executive | Charlotte, NC

The Share the Warmth Coat Challenge to support our annual Steve's Coats For Kids Drive in Ballantyne Corporate Park in Charlotte, North Carolina's Ballantyne area has been extended until Friday, January 13th! Please help reach the goal of collecting 2,500 coats for Steve’s Coats For Kids to help underprivileged families in Charlotte by donating coats through noon on Friday, January 13. Needed are new or gently used coats in all sizes. Adult sizes are especially needed for teens. Please help... we've had some very, very cold days in Charlotte this past week and winter is only getting started... no child should be "left out in the cold."

Steve’s Coats For Kids have collected nearly 120,000 coats during the last 12 years since the program was founded in 2005. Every coat donation spends less than 48 hours in the Crisis Assistance Ministry Free Store before benefitting someone in need. Crisis Assistance Ministry has served the Charlotte area since 1975. An independent non-profit agency, it focuses on preventing homelessness and preserving dignity for Charlotte-Mecklenburg's working poor -- providing assistance with rent, utilities, clothing and furniture.

You can drop off coats in the collection bins located in all of the Ballantyne Corporate Park building lobbies. Now that you have an extra day and a half to do so, please help gift the gift of warmth to Charlotte children. For a map of Ballantyne Corporate Park, click here.

If you miss out on dropping off a coat by noon Friday in Ballantyne, there are other locations around the Charlotte metro area where you can drop off coats until January 15th:

The Steve's Coats For Kids drive has four community partners this year: Showmars Restaurants, Ashley HomeStore, ER Plumbing and Hendrick Honda.  You can drop off donations at their locations, as well.

Nina this is a very worthy event to support, and I hope the number of coats collected far exceed the goal.

Good morning Niina.  No need for a coat yesterday or this morning however, this afternoon a cold front is going to hit.  Hoping you exceed your goal.

James Dray ~ good morning, James... our winters overall are pretty mild compared with many parts of the country, but it does get cold overnight and into the early morning hours--just when many kids are also waiting for the school bus.

Joe Pryor ~ good morning, Joe. Steve Udelson is the chief meteorologist at one of the big local tv stations. He started this program 12 years ago and it just keeps growing. I'm just always amazed that no matter how many coats get collected and delivered to the Crisis Assistance Ministry, they get snatched up as quickly as they come in.

Belinda Spillman ~ hi Belinda... to my way of thinking, that is precisely the problem... that so many kids need coats each winter! It's so sad.
