Our MLS refuses to put open houses on view to the public because of procuring cause issues. There are so many sites showing open houses that I think it is better for us as agents to provide ourt clients with the information than them finding it themselves.

Our MLS took this step because we were feeling that we were being held "hostage" by the local newspaper and their advertising rates Nick & Trudy Vandekar . This will save all us brokers a ton of money and hopefully get the paper to recognize that we can live without them and that maybe if they want our business they need to be a bit more competitive. Also with over 80% of buyers today starting their home search on the Internet we want to make it as easy for them to find us as we can.

Good morning Bob.  With the temperatures in your area I can see why they are all online.  Right now it is around 60 here and by this afternoon it will drop over 20 degrees.

How nice that Minot home buyers can now readily access this information. Our mls has provided this for quite a long time... not sure that it really generates a whole lot more activity, but the information is out there.

It will be nice not to have to pay the paper each week in hopes someone sees your listing Nina Hollander . I'm thinking that with the mapping feature people may be able to squeeze in one or two more homes then they would have with out it... and hopefully that one extra is my open house and they LOVE it!

Our MLS is owned by 8 brokers (of which I am one) and the important thing was that we all agreed and we are all going to support the open house website through our own sites George Souto . We are all tired of being held hostage by the rates our paper is charging.
