If you know college football, you know that the Clemson Tigers just one the 2016 National Championship! Most of the area around here love our Clemson Tigers. My husband and I grew up in the Clemson area and the Tigers have always been a part of our life.
This week has been very special. The Clemson Tigers played Alabama Crimson Tide in Tampa, Florida this past Monday night. They won the game ( 35-31 ) on a pass from Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfrow with only one second left on the play clock!! It was one of the most exciting games I have ever seen!! This was the second Nation title for Clemson.. The first was back in 1981.
To celebrate its nation championship win, Clemson is holding a parade in downtown Clemson this Saturday morning at 9am. The parade will start at the intersection of College Ave and Keith Street and will proceed toward Bowman Field, then turn onto Hwy 93 toward the athletics district. It will then turn on Centennial Blvd toward Memorial Stadium, down Avenue of Champions to Gate 6.
If you don't want to arrive early to get a good seat on the parade route, another option is watching it on the video boards at Memorial Stadium. Gates will open at 7am. The in-stadium celebration will start after the parade at 10:30 and will include concessions and novelty stands - featuring officially licensed Nation Championship merchandise. The celebration will be streamed live online and will include featured speakers including Head Coach Dabo Swinney, players ( Deshaun Watson, Ben Boulware, and others), Clemson President Jim Clements and many others.
If you love the Tigers, this is a can't miss event!!
