Some come to hike some come for the many area attractions and some come to float down the lazy river.
Gas prices are high but lets keep our plans for a vacation in perspective, if you drive a modest car that gets 25 miles to the gallon of gas on the highway, you can drive 200 miles for about ($29.00) twenty nine dollars. That gives you a lot of options in New England. From where I live Near Loon Mountain in Lincoln New Hampshire I can travel less than three hours and visit: Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, the rest of New Hampshire and several great cities in Canada. The Maine Coast, Burlington Vermont, Hartford Connecticut, Newport Rhode Island, The Boston Red Sox, and Montreal Canada are all but $29 away.
Family time is important, your children are only young once (and we aint getting any younger either), so don't put off that needed break from the grind, take a trip! You can't take 4 people to the movies for less than $30 and if you order popcorn you've blown your budget.
A tank of gas is still cheaper than A mental break down, if you are not ready to buy a vacation home at least take your kids on a vacation, you'll be glad you did.
