There are a lot of fascinating people who are members of Active Rain. One ofmy favorites is Kathy Gee Streib. There are a lot of reasons to be fond of Kathy, but let me give you a few of my personal reasons.
Kathy is always upbeat. Kathy is also a Facebook friend of mine, so I get a chance to see her away from her profession as a home-stager. She posts delightful pictures of her home community and community activities in Palm Beach Co., FL, which makes those of us freezing up north envious (see below and be prepared to want to move). She has sold me on a Florida move.
Kathy always has a word of encouragement to offer. I don't think I've ever seen her post a comment on Active Rain or Facebook that didn't encourage, uplift or inspire. That's such a welcome characteristic in today's highly charged environment.
As I mentioned above, Kathy has a home staging company called "Room Service Home Staging." Her portfolio reveals her keen eye for quality and style, and if I lived in the Palm Beach Co., real estate market, I would have her on speed dial. Kathy entered the home-staging profession in 2007 after searching for a home for herself and her family. Many homes lacked inspiration, and she has found a way to help those "save me" homes become "buy me" homes.
Another interesting fact about Kathy is that she has a Master's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Houston. How well would that come in a public service business? After college, Kathy administered the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) for one of her college professors. The test is often used in the psychological community to determine treatment plans for clients and to provide therapeutic assessments. It can also be used as a job screening tool, as well as, a forensic assessment of an individual in a criminal case. Needless to say, Kathy is very smart.
I had the privilege of chatting with Kathy today and I'm even more impressed with her. She has a delightfully sweet personality. She loves her Active Rain family and she shows it in her weekly "What I learned this week at Active Rain" blog. The amount of time that Kathy devotes to finding the treasures she posts each week is phenomenal. That's a commitment that all of us could and should be inspired by, and personally, I find it incredibly humbling to be included in her list.
Take a minute to drop by her blog and say hello. Visit her website and give her a thumbs up for the great work she does in her business and on Active Rain. She's a great asset in this community and we're blessed to have her.
