It is going on three years since I last updated my 1st Time Homebuyer Seminar Series , and several changes have taken place during that time to the homebuying process. So it is time for me to update the information and make sure the information is current and relevant.
My 1st Time Homebuyer Seminar Series is not just a series of blogs, these are actual 1st Time Homebuyers classes I conduct. This series of blogs is what I share with 1st Time Homebuyers at each seminar.
I conduct the seminars on my own, and not with other Real Estate Professionals, though I have done those seminars as well. These monthly seminars are purposely designed to have a small number in attendance for reasons I have listed below, as well as a couple of other reasons:
- I have more time to cover each point in more detail, and at the same time keep the Seminar short.
- Since I am conducting the whole Seminar, I am able to keep it simple and informal.
- Because a smaller number of people attend, it allows more time for questions, and those in attendance feel less threatened to ask questions.
- I am able to refer these prospective buyers to Realtors, Attorneys, and Home Inspectors once I have Pre-Approve them.
- The seminars have been well received by Realtors I partner with, because they are getting a qualified Buyer and not wasting their time.
I limit these Seminars to one hour, and during that hour I give an overview and answer initial questions about the Homebuying Process from Pre-Approval to the Closing. These seminars contain a lot of information as you will see from the blogs in this series. I begin each seminar by answering questions those in attendance might have, and discussing the advantages to homeownership. Next I try to provide a quick basic understanding of what a Realtor will do for them, followed by the process of obtaining a mortgage, and finish with the Closing.
Through the years I have done different forms of advertise to promote these Seminars. I have advertised on the radio, our website, and billboards. The advertisement instructs those who want to attend a seminar to pre-register for the seminar on our website. This lets me know how many people are coming ahead of time, but more importantly, this provides me with their contact information so we can follow up with them to make sure they still plan to attend.
Above is an Infographic of the blogs included in my 1st Time Homebuyer Seminar Series of blogs consist of nine blogs.
I will be doing this 1st Time Homebuyer Seminar Series over the next couple of weeks, and hopefully it will provide an outline for others who might a;sp want to do their own 1st Time Homebuyer Seminar.
