Stowe, Vermont - Market Report on Land Sales in Stowe, VT - 2007 through 2016
Stowe, VT Land Sales over the past 10 years have been somewhat inconsistent. Since the recession, the number of sales have gone down with a pick up in 2012. There was a 46% increase from 2015 to 2016. The inventory level has seen a downward trend since 2013 to 2016 but there was a slight increase in 2016. The average and median sale price in 2016 saw a significant increase in sale prices.
Land tends to not follow the overall market trends unless there is a severe lack of inventory in homes available for sale and a possible lower inventory of land for sale. The cost to hold land by an owner tends to low in that property taxes are low on undeveloped land. Now that Stowe has seen reduced inventory in existing homes along with increased sale prices, land sales may pick up in 2017.
