Great thoughts speak only to the thoughtful mind,
but great actions speak to all mankind.
--- Theodore Roosevelt
Quotes – I love quotes because there are thoughtful messages from many great people. Theodore Roosevelt makes an excellent point, “Great actions speak to all mankind.” What the world needs now are actions that are positively making a difference in this world.
Yesterday, we celebrated Martin Luther King Day. I went to the movies to see Hidden Figures. I was so inspired by three women who made a significant difference in the field of Aerospace Technology. It is a true story that takes place in the 1960’s when women struggled in a man’s world to get a job or a position that took a woman outside of teaching, nursing, or the secretarial pool; but if you were a woman of color, it was even harder. They say, behind every great man is a woman. John Glen was lucky he had three women - Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson, and Dorothy Vaughan!
Before long, it will be Spring Break. Parents, if you’re looking to take your children somewhere to inspire young girls and boys to respect both sexes and to become a better citizen, there are several Women Museums and Women's Exhibits throughout the United Sates:
National Women’s History Museum, Washington, D.C.
The Women’s Museum, Dallas, Texas
Women’s History Museum, San Diego
Women’s History Museum, New York
National Women’s Hall of Fame, New York
Colorado’s Women’s Hall of Fame, Colorado
It shouldn't matter what sex you are, your nationality, race, or age, the world deserves the best and most competent people to achieve the American and/or worldly goals. Females, in general, have been lagging behind way too long. Respectfully, all children need to be inspired and know opportunities are available to all people.
