Houston magazine launched its annual Philanthropy Issue with a fundraising fete at River Oaks District.
THE PARTY
Auto enthusiasts and big hearts gathered for a party at River Oaks District’s central courtyard to celebrate both the release of Houston’s Philanthropy Issue, as well as the exclusive unveiling of Porsche’s shiny, new 2017 Panamera.
THE SCENE
As the crowd gathered outside of trendy Toulouse Café and Bar to sip cocktails, Page Parkes models took to podiums in the latest designer looks by boutiques in the District. Kiton and Akris enticed holiday shoppers, while uniformed Marines—who noted it was the corps’ 241st birthday—reminded revelers of the meaning of the season by collecting donations for Toys for Tots’ annual gift drive.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Steve Mach, Joanne King Herring and Houston Texan Whitney Mercilus—a few of the individuals featured in our November issue—were honored for their community impact before David Kurtz, Porsche’s regional president, revealed the brand-new driving machine.
