DC metro is a fast growing area. With the growth comes growing pains. If you currently live in the Northern Virginia suburbs example Loudoun & Prince William County you know the long, frustrating commute to your work or getting around during rush hours. Somedays that 10-mile commute can take about 45 mins.
Recently few of my clients have asked if the home has an Electric Car Charging feature?
Well, the older homes don’t have as a pre-existing feature but doing a simple research it does not look like an impossible mission. However, if you are considering purchasing a home that does not have a car garage or a nearest electric car charging station you may want to reconsider your purchase. It will be impossible for your HOA to look past having a charging outlet on the front of your home. Remember days when we all wanted satellite dish in front of your house. To add an outlet to an existing garage you are looking in $1000+ depending on the master electrician you hire.
Anyhow, if you do have a garage adding an outlet to an existing garage you are looking in $1000+ depending on the master electrician you hire.
In regards to new home construction in the Northern Virginia area, some of the builders I have spoken with can add the feature as a custom option. The cost is significant. But if you already have the car or planning to purchase it may be worth adding the feature.
Electric car charging outlet will it become a standard future feature as we evolved with trends in home buying in the Northern Virginia area?
