Scheduled ActiveRain Downtime - Please spread the word

We will taking the site down in the early morning of Friday May 9th from 1am-4am Pacific Time. (4am-7am on the East Coast). The site will be down as we put a build up with some significant performance enhancements.

I could go into the details, but I can't decipher what the Heck Diego and Matt are talking about........so I probably wouldn't get it right anyway. What I do know is that many of the issues around site performance are being addressed in this release so you should see increased performance when the site comes back online Friday morning at 4am Pacific Time.

If you are working on anything at the time the site goes down, your work will be lost........so please help us spread the word to those late night/early morning ActiveRainers you know to frequent the site at these late/early hours.

Thank you for the heads up. I will probably be sleeping but I am still thankful fo rthe heads up. Will the spell check issue be fixed?

Jimmy, I believe the spell check issue will be fixed.

A couple of the other bug fixes:

Safari comment bug.
Editing agent profiles in Safari bug
A bug fix around blog post pinging and SEO

Thanks for the heads-up! That's my morning playtime usually, and other east coasters as well.... but no doubt the updates will be great ones. Any chance any of them will help speed up the loading time? Glad spellcheck is in the updates - I miss being able to rely on that.

Ann, The fixes have been up on our testing site for a couple days now and the testing site is like a million times faster... seriously!

I'll be logging on right at 7:01 EST and the darn place better be up and running by then or else someone's gonna have hell to pay. Or maybe I'll just find something else to do for a few hours like take a shower and sell some houses.

Thank goodness Brian is finally going to take a shower. I was starting to smell him over here in Detroit. Thank goodness for your down time so he can take care of business.

Maintenance took a little longer than expected but the sites back up and does seem a little snappier.

Glad to see the site back online. Is anyone else having problems uploading photos? (I've tried using both IE and Firefox..no luck)
