It's January 2017 and the fine weather is bringing out lots of buyers.  The real estate market in Wilmette IL was strong in 2016 - better than any of the other North Shore communities.  Wilmette continues to be a prime destination for buyers for many reasons including good schools, proximity to downtown, shopping, and restaurants.  And the great Gillson Beach.

What does the Wilmette real estate market look like today?

Homes for sale:  27

Low price:  $349,000

High price:  $9,900,000

Median price:  $900,000

Under contract and pending homes:  38

Current absorption rate:  4 months (a market that is trending toward being a seller's market.)

 

How did Wilmette home sales do in 2016?

Total homes sold:  376

Low price:  $235,000

High price:  $3,255,000

Median sold price:  $740,000

That's a pretty impressive market in Wilmette, currently, and for 2016. It's interesting see that while there is diversity in pricing, the bulk of the homes that sold were in the $1M - $2M range. Selling the Main Line & Chester County

Very interesting market stats, as jeff said there is a wide choice, but the main market is the $1-2M range. Market also seems pretty active so bodes well for 2017.
