Recommended Physician for Blood Disorders: Ralph V. Boccia, MD, FACP
In 2002, I was referred to Dr. Ralph V. Boccia for a possible blood disorder. After a bone marrow biopsy, he advised me that I had hairy cell leukemia, an uncommon chronic leukemia that can suppress the immune system. Fortunately, there is a selective targeted treatment for this disease. I went through the chemotherapy and the disease has been in remission since then. I have regular visits for blood tests and all was well at a recent visit.
If you have the possibility of a blood disorder, I strongly recommend Dr. Boccia at The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, 301-571-0019. They have offices in Bethesda and Germantown, Maryland. Click onthe link to visit their website.
