This no charge service is provided by the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS. This program started back in 1968 and has helped almost 50 million low to moderate income taxpayers. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has over 5,000 locations. The staff consists of over 34,000 IRS- certified volunteers which I think is a huge number. Federal Taxes are no fun as we all know and are way too complicated for most folks plus we now have to deal with reporting health insurance coverage and deal with IRS audits generated via computer selection with no human intervention. .
Here is another in a long line of excellent programs being put on in conjunction with the local libraries in the Katy area. I think this is an excellent opportunity for folks who qualify to get needed tax assistance and the Good Lord knows most folks need some type of help in this convoluted tax structure we all have to live with and deal with here in the US. I am a CPA and I feel sorry for folks who have to struggle their way through the myriad of rules and forms. I have published this same type of blog in the past as I know all too well how ridiculous and complicated these tax issues have become. As in prior years, please contact AARP Tax Aide or the local library as I will not be doing any new returns.
If you need help with your taxes and you qualify for assistance try AARP Tax Aide providing Tax Assistance at Katy Libraries as I feel confident you will be satisfied and certainly a major worry will be off your back for at least another year. This event is open to the public.
