What is that?

Recently I came across an article that had photos of homes listed for sale that were considered crazy, insane, or just down right wrong. It made me think of how many times we skim through pictures and just glance over them not really considering what we could have done to improve a potential blemish. Some homeowners have either grown accustomed to their home eye sores or just don't care.  However, unlike them, many do still take pride in their homes, even if they are looking to sell.

Make it work or work around it.

From hiding an AC vent with picture frames among a wall of art, to creating a hideaway laundry room, Stacey Freed of Houselogic.com shared some great ideas to turn "oh no" to "oh nice". I've added some pictures below.

No creativity or money?

It's okay. Sites like Pinterest make it easy to search ideas and simple instructions. You can even buy supplies at your local dollar stores.

1. Play around with fabrics and colors to bring life to dull areas.

2. Use frames and wall art to highlight or cover the misfit.

3. Increase storage space with inexpesive containers and boxes.

No time?

Consider hiring an interior decorator. Many recent graduates are willing to work for cheap to build their portfolio. They may request a small fee and/or before and after pictures. Inquire at local schools. Hint, you can even ask an up and coming photographer for assitance.
