Once again, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament is coming to the Monterey Peninsula February 6-12, 2017. Millions of TV viewers and 190,000 spectators will be following play held at three major golf courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore.

There will be 156 professionals including defending champion Vaughn Taylor plus 156 amateurs, many of them celebrities, playing in this event hosted by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. Last year, $10.8 million was donated to support local non-profits in the area.

It's a fun event, with amateur fan favorites Bill Murray, Ray Romano and Larry The Cable Guy,  "hunks" Josh Duhamel, Chris O'Donnell, and Justin Timberlake, and sports greats Wayne Gretsky and Payton Manning spicing up the field.

The purse is $7,200,000 for the pros, and $1,260,000 for 1st Place.

History

1937: This is when Bing Crosby invited some friends to play golf followed by a clambake in Rancho Santa Fe. It continued until 1942 when it was suspended because of World War II. The First Place check was $500.

1946: Ted Durein and Dan Searle wanted to revive the event which happened in in 1947 in Pebble Beach.

How does this relate to Real Estate:

This exposure to the Monterey Peninsula is monumental both with spectators who come to the event and those who watch our beautiful coastline while watching the Pro-Am on TV.

Visitors will take the opportunity to look at our lifestyle, go to our restaurants, boutiques, and looks at our beautiful homes. Many of them will take the opportunity to look at real estate while they are here, or decide to come at some future date to invest in a primary residence, second home or investment property here on the Monterey Peninsula.

If you would like immediate access to homes for sale anywhere on the Monterey Peninsula, please give me call.

My office is conveniently located right in the middle of Carmel-by-the-Sea on Dolores between 5th and 6th Avenues in the trendy Su Vecino Court.
