If you are thinking about putting your home on the market, especially if it's an older home, it would be important for you to get a pre-listing home inspection.  Also, if there is a "mold" smell it usually means there's mold!  Have a qualified specialist come and inspect the home.  There is a company here in the Triangle/Triad area that will do this inspection "free of charge".  This will certainly help you determine what issues you would face if you received an offer on the home and then the buyer had home inspections.  Home inspections can "kill" a deal quickly!  Know what you are facing BEFORE you list your home!
