About Lakewood and Steilacoom;
Lakewood is a incorporated city founded in 1998. The population in 2010 census was 58,163. Lakewood is a host community to JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord). Commute times to JBLM are between 10 and 15 minutes. (Depending on traffic) It also is a short commute to Pacific Lutheran University and the DuPont Amazon Fulfillment Center.
Steilacoom is an incorporated city founded in 1854 and was the first incorporated town in Washington state. The population in 2010 census was 58,163. Steilacoom is a host community to JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord). Commute times to JBLM are between 10 and 15 minutes. (Depending on traffic) Less than a mile from Chambers Bay; home of the 2015 US Open!
