I am so upset right now.  I heard about this the other night, but I only heard a quick bit.  Here in my town of Lancaster, Ca., a "person", or as I would call them, an animal, set a dog on fire.  (I am shaking as I write this and almost in tears.)

I love animals, but even if I didn't, I don't understand how someone could do such a hurendous things as setting a living thing on fire.

The story is in the Antelope Valley Press, dated May 7, 2008.  WWW.avpress.com

Ann Brooks, a local resident heard the dog crying in pain and agony.  She, being a great person, took her shirt off and rolled the dog in the shirt.  The dog was a pit mix, and she had no fear.  She wanted to help the dog.

Tony Bell said "Abusing an animal is an unacceptable crime."  I AGREE!!!  (Sorry, this is hard for me to write, as tears are starting down my face.)  "This is an unspeakable act, and we want to punish wohever is responsible."  When I first read this, I wanted that person to go through what this pup did.  Now, I just want this person caught and punished for what they did.  Also, I want to see this dog go to a loving home.  I have a pit, and she is the biggest lover.  I saw the puppy on the news, and it was still be so very loving.

It took over 2 minutes for Ann to put out the flames.  What a painful experience for her, and the pup.

The same dog was seen a couple of days earlier on Goxton, walking by some girls.

Ann said, "This little dog should be saved.  It was not a vicious dog."

Check out the story.  Thank you for bearing with me.  I just want to get this out.

How horrible and tragic. I hope they capture the perpetrator soon. Someone who derives pleasure from torturing helpless animals and gets away with it could easily turn their attention to humans.

People can be capable of such unspeakable cruelty.  We, as pet owners, must keep our pets well secured in our home or yard.  It's not safe out there.

Joe, I couldn't agree more.  I just wish there was something more I could do.  I still get very upset and emotional when I think about it.  Thank you for the post.
