I ran into an attorney friend of mine this morning. We chatted about our upcoming days, and I mentioned to him how I spend two hours a day generating new business...
"Calling people?" he asked.
"Yes," I answered. "I call for sale by owners (fsbos) and expired listings every day. A good group of people for me to be talking to. They have homes to sell, and, after all, I sell homes..."
"So, you call them trying to convince them to use you?" he asked...
"No," I said with a just a hint of a scowl. "Look," I continued, "I know that 90% of fsbos are eventually going to list with an agent to sell their home. All I do is reach out, introduce myself, and try and figure how I can help them get their homes sold. I then ask for permission to follow up. And I follow up. Over and over and over again. Video texts, emails, phone calls, hand written notes. You name it. I stay in touch..."
"I like that," he concluded. "So when they are ready to list, you are top of mind?"
"Exactly!"
"Go get em!" he said, as we parted ways...
"I will!" I answered...
I will.
