Meteor Lands in Lake Michigan

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker 475.140531

Late Sunday night or actually Monday a Meteor shot across the sky and finally landed in Lake Michigan. Many reports were made by people who saw the bright fireball across the sky. There was videos of the Meteor that was captured by police dash cams and people who were out and about at that time.

I will never forget as long as I live the time I saw a Meteor shoot across the sky during a vacation in Wyoming during the middle of the day in the Summer of 1972. This was totally real, my whole family was with me when it happened. We were driving in the car to go horse back riding and I said to my parents "look out the window". We all observed this and it is well documented.

This Meteor was seen in all the states on the edge of Lake Michigan, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

The earth is 2/3 water so the chances are better of it hitting water.

What a spectacular event, Noah! I've seen a few over the years, but nothing that close! Amazing how bright it is and how it lights up the scene as it passes! Great share, I didn't hear about it.

Good morning Noah.  I saw that on TV, just something that one doesn't see on a daily basis.

That is actually very cool to watch Noah Seidenberg . Did anyone see the splash down?

That would be quite a sight to see!  I remember as a kid seeing a falling star outside of my window, I ran outside to where it landed, but there was nothing, haha.

Noah, I think I would be uneasy if I saw a meteor in person. I heard about this on the news and it's very intriguing to watch in the video you shared with us.

Hi Noah

This was all over our news the other night. Some very cool videos. Thank goodness it ended up in the lake and not on land.

What a bright flashing light. It is a little spooky to see that even knowing what it is. I always think, what if it were to hit someone.

I saw some videos and news reports on this. What a neat thing to see. I saw one while camping in the Black Canyon National Park. This one split in two as it sailed through the sky. I jumped straight out of my sleeping bag. Everyone else thought I had seen a bear.

It's a cousin of Superman coming to find the rest of the family.  The clip shows a dark lot and all of a sudden it is like floodlights are turned on.  Thanks for sharing.

Very cool, I don't hear about meteor crashes very often, Lake Michigan sounds like a good landing spot.
