Addicted to Comments...........

Ok...its official.

I need to join a local chapter of Blogging Comments Anonymous.  It's a drug....and Im addicted!  I need help!  I need an intervention...........

Nothing makes me happier than commenting on other blogs.

Dont get me wrong...I like writing them. :-)  In fact, I love writing them.  And, I love responding to the comments that I get and letting them know I appreciate the time they took out of thier busy lives to read my little post.

But, nothing has the same appeal than reading something that someone else wrote and allowing myself to make a comment...whether that be constructive criticism, agreement on a topic, or just being humorous.  I read other blogs and think to myself...Man, what a great point...or...Man, I wish I would have wrote about this...or...Now THAT was funny!  And I just cant help myself....I have to comment.

Im not sure where this stems from...Perhaps its my basic need to feel like Im involved in the conversation in some way.  Perhaps its because I didnt get hugged enough as a child...who knows?

All I know is Im addicted to making comments on other blogs.  I love it.  From what I have seen from the people that I comment on, they love it also!

So, my advice??  Take the time and read some of the wonderful things out here in AR....and please, make a comment!  It's fun...both for you and for the person that took the time to write the blog.  And, quite frankly...for me, its a requirement!  :-)

Happy Commenting!!!!

I'm also forming a new habit on the commenting on blogs, it's not an addiction yet, maybe it's just a phase. hehe.

maybe I'll have to join your commenter anonymous someday as well.

Andrew -- Yeah, I bypassed the habit phase a couple months ago.  :-)  Im gonna write a 12 step program for this...lol

Wow...a lot of "addictive" comments...can I be included?  I dont' spend too much time commenting...too much other stuff to do.  Have a great day.  Jeff from Maui

And I thought I was the only one...as a fairly new AR member, I've found this new found "outlet" so addictive that I've given up sleep, food and even American Idol...well, maybe not American Idol.  I sure hope my real estate career doesn't interfere with my blogging career :) just kidding!! Cheers to those with "Commenting Addiction" You could always try Ritalin, but who would want to ruin the fun????

LaShawn -- Sleep.  Food.  Video games.  TV.  Exercise.  Pretty much everything that defines me has been lost to this mess...lol.  Keep up the good fight!  :-)

So does that mean I can have drink too???  Drinking and chatting... that could be great!!!!  Is going to cost extra to treat multiple addictions?   I should practice the group mantra, "I have no addiction to commenting"

05/08/2008 12:34 PM by Sharon Wager "Your Blue Jean Agent" (Prudential First Properties)

Sharon -- I think we have a winner combination right there!!  "Im not an addict...I can quit any time I want to..."  HA!  Not sure that I should charge for the therapy...Its more of a public service.  :-)

05/08/2008 12:36 PM by Clint Miller - www.recr.com (Real Estate Client Referrals LLC)

So, would you like payment in bar tokens or data package minutes?  LOL - I told myself 45 minutes ago that I HAVE to get off my computer and get some "real work" done for the day!

05/08/2008 12:42 PM by Sharon Wager "Your Blue Jean Agent" (Prudential First Properties)

I love all the advice and reading over the blogs.  I am commenting whenever I can.  Learning so much

05/08/2008 12:43 PM by Carol Judd , Vernal Utah Real Estate (Century 21 Dart Realty)

Sharon -- Bar tokens work best.  :-)  Although I would also take phone cards, car stereos, jewelry, a kidney....whatever you got.  Im not picky.  :-)

Carol -- That's really why all of us are here.  Ive learned more about real estate as a whole in the 6 months ive been on AR than my 5 years working for RECR.com.  One thing I can say about this place is it is truly a wealth of information!

I often find myself rushing home or back to work to log on to AR. I enjoy reading all the neat blogs but most of all I enjoy leaving comments. Being new to AR I am still learning but I have even posted a couple blogs myself. Its addicting, I cant stop and the odd thing is I dont want to - I love it!!!Okay I need your addicts group maybe.

05/08/2008 01:37 PM by Dione Sage (American Mortgage Specialists)

Dione -- Yeah, I dont want to stop either.  This is one addiction that has paid off in so many ways.  Im just not sure my family understands the need for it....lol.  omg, did I say NEED???  Yup, Im an addict.  lol

"Now Clinton, you need to stop blaiming everything in your life on your father and I.   As your parents, we hugged you just as much as any other child.  But at this point I'm thinking we didn't discipline you enough.  If you have time to "blog" or whatever it is you youngsters do all day, then certainly you could pick up the phone and call your mother and father from time to time.  This is the last time we want to hear you complain about us as parents.  Just wait until you have kids of your own."

Regards, your mother.  And when was the last time you sent your mother flowers for mother's day???

P.S.  This message was not written by Clint's mother.  It does not necessarily express the opinions or viewpoints of his mother and father.  In the words of the great Chick Hearn, "no harm-no foul"

05/08/2008 01:51 PM by Marko Vucurevic (VanDyk Mortgage)

Fran -- SWEEEET!  :-)   If there is one thing I love, its people posting comments, if for no other reason, than to just post a comment.  Welcome to your newest addiction!  hahaha

Marko -- Awesome reply!!  Very imaginative and probably right on the money.  :-)

Clint,

The commenting habit has created many treasured business relationships through Active Rain.  It's a good addiction.

Mike in Tucson

Mike -- I agree entirely.  One of the better addictions one can pick up now-a-days considering the alternatives that are out there.  :-)  Hopefully, this one turns out to be a bit more fruitful.
