You said you wanted some excitement? I Show up at a new listing. Home is vacant. I walk around this Manchester NH area home taking picture of the outside. I trudge through the near 2 feet of snow to the door, unlock the lockbox and go inside. I walk through the home, taking pictures of every room and making notes of what it needs. Some time passes and i see men out the rear, to the side and coming up the walk. I go to the front door, see it is a police officer and open the door telling him who i am. Boom, bang, shuffle, "CODE 4 it is the Realtor."
Let's see: Well dressed, clip board, camera, lock box... and the neighbor calls the police for a robbery in process.
Most neighbors ignore what is going on when a house is being stripped of copper or vandalized. So i was grateful for a neighbor looking out for the home.
The lead officer was nice, understanding and I thanked him. Those yelling....... well, it wasn't needed.... The lead officer thanked me for coming out and identifying myself from the start. They had a chuckle, I got high blood pressure.
IN THE END this is not just a job it is an adventure. With a marketing plan in place, market analysis complete, cleaning crew hired.... This home will be available to see soon and will not take me long to get it under contract.
