All Real Estate Markets Pretty Much Are The Same Right?

(Buzzer BBBZZZzzzzzzzzzz sound) All real estate markets are not the same and there is a major difference on how the big city and small rural ones behave.

What is important to the city mouse is vastly different like the size of the price tags for his country cousin.

In urban markets the list of gotta have before you slide the house, condo, co-operative on the market is not a carbon copy match for the rural real estate market.small maine real estate markets photo

The cost for the properties swing wildly nose bleed high in one city market, to the extreme the other way close to the ground in small rural real estate markets.

Security is big and always a concern in the city. Not even a concern in the smaller rural real estate market. Where doors are not locked, the keys left in the vehicles in the huge yard.

Space is at a premium in the city landscape for the real estate listings that dot the streets and that are super close together. Where zero lot lines makes you wonder why have windows on the sides if all you see if the up close grain of the home siding that is razor thin close.

In the small rural local real estate market, wide open fresh air and clean water space is all around the listings.

Acreage not inches or feet are used to describe the landscape. Large prison like privacy fences are not needed when you don't have a neighbor on any side. There is not a strangle hold of zoning regulations or heavy permitting either in small rural Maine towns to maneuver around in the local community real estate ordinances. That put your housing addition or building project on hold and can cause the blood to boil hot hot hot.

Read the blog post article on the differences between large urban real estate and small rural property listings markets. When you are ready to settle down and consider exploring the Northern Maine real estate market, fire away with the questions. Our office is ready to help you buy and sell Maine real estate of any type, no how big or small.

Markets can change over a distance of 20 miles. And yes there is a  big difference in a rural area in a state lower than yours and the wide open spaces you have where you work

Andy, That's one of the neat things about real estate.  While we might be accomplishing the same task state to state, the way it's done, the price points that it happens at, they can be vastly different.

Liz and Bill Spear ... the keeping a lid on drama, dealing with people is still there when the public steps up but the talking points and price ranges differ vastly.

That would be No...one neighborhood, school district, suburb to another can be a whole different story she said to the choir.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson ... Another big factor changes the complexity of how to dissect the current market too beyond the rise and fall of schools, new developments in larger populations. In small rural towns, money is missing and so are lots of the extra bells and whistles good or bad that a real estate buyer is after. Less lawsuits too and easy living in many ways. No money to pay lawyers and people get along, work together more like a community.
