I have learned a few things in the last couple of days. I left the cold and the familiarity of my home and went to a tranquil, if simple place, in Florida. Singer Island is quiet, really quiet. I knew no one but I am comfortable in my own skin everywhere. Things were different in Singer Island. There were families from up north, migrated folks from many places, and locals who have never traveled beyond Palm Beach County.
Yesterday there was a man walking the beach with a huge Trump flag. The local news is filled with people who are thrilled by seeing Air Force One at the Palm Beach Airport, and then there are the locals whose businesses are being seriously impacted by a no fly zone that precludes their ability to fly in or around the area. I read my book, took it all in, and kept my mouth shut.
I'm home now and glad for the couple of days in the sun but happy to be where I belong. A few last pictures.
