NEW CONSTRUCTION STRONG AND STEADY
Housing Starts came in at 1.246M in January. This was slightly better than expectations of 1.232M. December's data was also revised higher from 1.226M to 1.279M. Permits came in at 1.285M which also beat expectations. December's data was also revised higher from 1.210M to 1.228M.
Housing permits, a good forward indicator of future construction starts, is at the highest level we've seen in a year.
REALTORS, do you have relationships with builders to be their contact when a buyer of their home needs to sell a departing residence?
I'm looking for a builder who needs a backup lender when their inhouse lender cannot do the loan. I have had great success in saving builder loans that can't get done with the inhouse lender.
