One of our favorite wildflowers is the California poppy, which happens to be the state flower.  We look forward to seeing it pop up in the most unexpected places.  With all the rains that have come (it is pouring rain as I write this) our hills and mountains will be covered with these beauties, and their purple companions, the lupines.  We spotted this beauty on our Wednesday trip to the wine country.

We are looking forward to our hike to Figueroa Mountain next month. This where the flower show is at its best, and where the organic honey we buy comes from.  We love our food connection to nature!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Even the rain is beautiful since it brings forth the lovely spring flowers.  And what could be sweeter than local organic honey?  That's the best medicine I know!

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron - even though the calendar indicates it is still Winter, the landscape seems to be changing to Spring each and every day.

Hi Alexandra and Ron... I have to agree... one of the most beautiful sights is a field of brilliantly colored poppies.

I love California Poppies too.  I have several in my backyard, but they aren't blooming yet.  However, the Daffodils are.

This morning while out hiking I saw so many spring flowers in bloom and it was gorgeous!  I forgot my phone so no photos to share. Glad you shared this one. A neighbor of mine has a whole section of these flowers blooming right now - stunning color!

This makes me want to plant orange for the spring this year. We haven't used that color in a long time.

It should be a wonderful Sring in CA with all the wild flowers growing.  I always liked Cali's state flower and that is a beautiful picture depicting it.

We had wildflower honey last weekend and had forgotten how good it is. The little poopy flowers are so sweet and seeing them in masses is quite the sight.

Endre Barath, Jr. you ought to come our way to see them.  Even though last year had very little rain, we had spectacular poppy shows.  The mountains were orange from a distance.  A
