Sedona Internatonal Film Festival
February 18-26, 2017
Sedona AZ Feb 18, 2017 - The Sedona International Film Festival began festivities last night with a pre-festival kick-off special event "Cloris on Comedy". Cloris Leachman received the Lifetime Achievement Award at a Presentation Ceremony. This event was a great way to get the festival up and running.
There are special events being held every day from now until Sunday February 26th when an AWARDS CELEBRATION BRUNCH at Poco Diablo.
The Sedona International Film Festival is planned to coincide with the week before the Oscars every year. This is the 23rd year of this festival and each and every year the venues have gotten better and the crowds larger.
Years ago, all the events were held only at the local Harkins theatre and under tents. Now, there is an upscale Mary Fisher theatre where the home offices of the International Film Festival are headquartered as well as a beautiful venue for holding movie revues as well as live or televised events.
The Sedona Art Preforming Center located adjacent to the Red Rock High School is also another popular venue for film festival events. All the events and parking areas are well planned and traffic moves surprisingly well! I do recommend getting to the events early so as to get a good seat. It appears the weather will cooperate and should make for little inconvenience. All three venues where films will be screened are great areas to view films.
As many of you know many of the films will have special guests to add color commentary and take your questions. You may also get to see some celebrities who will be taking questions or preforming. This year Cloris Leachman, Bruce Hornsby Michael Feinstein and Peter Marshall will be on hand to help the Sedona International Film Festival celebrate 23 years of excellence.
