One thing that I love about social media is how it lets you discover your own community. This is especially true with Instagram, where there’s an almost unending number of SWFL residents showing off everything our area has to offer. On the one hand, you can trek deep into the wilds of our outdoors, and on the other hand, you can check out some of the great restaurants and other amenities in the area. Of course, it’s also nice you can do so right from the comfort of your own home!
So, to ensure you’re well-connected to all the things our area offers, from real estate to events and places to visit, my real estate team has put together this list of must-follow Instagrammers for you. Now, this list is only a taste of what’s available, and if you’re looking for even more local resources, so you can learn all about what living here is like, we’re always happy to show you more.
This little-known cottage by the shore is a fun follow for SWFL Instagrammers. Located on Don Pedro Island, it’s not just a wonderful place to stay, they also have some great photos to see and share.
The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum
Another hidden gem in Southwest Florida, this museum is dedicated to one amazing thing: shells, shells, and shells. As a local Instagrammer, this account is filled with education and beautiful photos of Sanibel’s shores.
This Southwest Florida native is giving you an inside view of what it’s like to live in Fort Myers. Her account is a really good opportunity to see it exactly as it is, from Millennial Brewing to Captiva Island kayaking.
Remember when I said you could trek into the unknown with SWFL Instragrammers? Well, here’s an excellent example. They don’t post often, but when they do, it’s really awesome.
Of course, we can’t leave off this local Instragrammer. The Ringling Museums are a treasure trove of history, art, gardens, and more. And the Instagram account is exactly the same!
When you’re looking for a big paddle wheel boat, Captain JP is the account to turn to. The sunset photos are simply out of this world! Plus, you can even grab a tour yourself after browsing the account!
That’s right! You can follow the legendary River of Grass on Instagram. This Instagrammer is your chance to check out the largest subtropical wildness in the entire United States… and right here in our backyard.
The Edison & Ford Winter Estates
This one is an exciting backstage pass to these beautiful historic homes. From weddings to the first blossoming flowers of the season, you’ll discover how full of life SWFL really is.
And finally, one of my favorite Instagrammers: the city of Fort Myers herself. This one really gives you a window into what our paradise is all about. And you’re going to love every second of it!
Did we leave off any of your favorite Instagrammers? We’d love to hear who you’re following in Florida!
