Oh it's sad but true, I've seen all of these things recently.  Please do yourself a favour and spring into the current decade. 

10 Things to Remove NOW  

  • doilies
  • dusty silk or dried flowers
  • macrame plant hangers or wall hangings
  • plastic, lucite or cardboard photo frames
  • pleated lampshades
  • balloon style window valances
  • wallpaper borders
  • anything brass sunflower
  • dead or dying houseplants
  • forgotten seasonal decorations !  

 

... there, now doesn't that FEEL better?

That was cathartic!! Don't forget the toilet tank cozy...they all need to go too! Oh, and what about the art that looks like it was painted from a hunter's gun scope. I know you know the ones I'm talking about. They might as well be framed in deer antlers. (And I just had a homeowner offer to lend me some just like it for a staging. I politely declined.)

yes I agree with all of you, a must do, I especially agree with forgotten seasonal decorations, I still see people have christmas trees ( fake ones) in the entrance to the house, and it is ok if they are just there, at least please do not lite them up. sometimes I feel like I need to get down from my car and pack them up myself.

Very funny list!  The sad thing is I'm old enough to remember the day when it was actually exciting thing to get balloon valances!  But yes, I agree they need to go!
