The Most Expensive Listing in the US | Who Knew?

By

Who knew there was so much money in handbgs?

Well, ok, so I kinda did know that there are designers selling their handbags for ridiculously high price tags. And I've even had some friends who have paid an arm and a leg (and a chunk out of their line of credit) to have the latest and greatest, but I seriously had no idea just how lucrative the bag biz has become.

So much so as a handbag designer one man earned such a fortune that he's been able to develop and build what is now the most expensive listing in the United States.

With over launched you on a career path to where you've developed and listed the most expensive Listing in the United States?

The 38,000 square foot home has a 41 foot theater, bowling alley, heli-pad, 3 Gourmet Kitchens and 20' outdoor TV.

According to the article on AP, only 3,000 people in the world could afford the list price of $250,000,000.

Hmmm....talk about a low buyer pool!

No temptation for me though, I'm happy to have been helping buyers and sellers over the last 27 years...which by the way is almost one year for every bathroom in this house, as it has 21!

Hate to have to clean those!

Very interesting Colleen Fischesser . My Bride buys a new handbag about once a year and it's usually in that $50.00 range or less.

I'd rather invest in other things than expensive bags Bob "RealMan" Timm . Your wife has the right idea!

Interestingly, this morning, I was watching a television this morning, where they will be giving away a Louis Vitton bag supposedly worth $2,000.  I couldn't help wondering when it was we got to the point that we thought a purse was worth that much!

I've heard of people spending up to $7000 for a purse. Just crazy Myrl Jeffcoat

That's a nice listing, but it doesn't leave much money to carry around in that purse!

Not my cup of tea!  In our market, the "McMansions" are harder to move than those properties under 3000 sq ft. But we are still selling those 3000 sq ft homes over $1,000,000.

I couldn't agree more Lynnea Miller it just seems like such an ostentacious WASTE of money!!

Good morning Colleen. So where is this home anyway? I like the bag and think the logo is familiar.

1/4 of a billion dollars -- when I first heard about this, I said to myself "Imagine what the property taxes must be like." But then I reminded myself what is often said about the gas mileage of a Rolls Royce -- if you have to worry about the cost of gasoline, you shouldn't be driving a Rolls.

I have seen that listing, it's getting a lot of buzz, though not by people who can afford it!  I didn't know it was by a handbag designer, however.  I think a television company should buy that place.  Reality show mansion?  That's what it seems like it'd be good for.  Otherwise who needs that much space and that many bathrooms???? -Kasey
