This is my first video using my new Flip video camera. I took a bunch of video today on my hike up Sauer Mountain above Leavenworth WA today. I wasn't very pleased with the Muvee software and am looking for suggestions for easy to use editing software. I used Microsoft Movie Maker today, but am considering Mixpo due to the good press it's gotten here.

Geordie, I just recently posted a blog that you'd be interested to see about online editing software.  Well, I'm not really sure if it's called software, maybe online editing programs.  But anyways check it out, I'm sure you will find it interesting.  It is what I found when I had your question.

Geordie - the quality looks pretty good.  I keep hearing this term flip video - are you referrnig to a specific camera?  If so - what is the model & make?

Looks like a nice place...unfortunately, I don't have a video camera yet, so I can't give you advice on software...Activebrad had a great post though on Mixpo!

I enjoyed the video and appreciate all the opinions on how easy to use this camera is.  I am looking into getting one.  Geordie-do you have a suggestion on where to get one?  Did you go to a local store or buy it on line?

Thanks so much for all the comments. Kristina - Allyson (my partner) found the 2 G online at www.thenerds.net Jeremy and Vickie - Yes, it sounds like ActiveBrad is a big fan of the Mixpo Bo- yes the Flip video camera is made by Pure Digital. It is small, cheap and simple to use Kat- Curious to see what you shoot this weekend..

I love my Flip and it is so easy to use.  Check out Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 as one of the video editing softwares as you make your comparison.  I personally use a Mac but I bought the Adobe product for a comparison based on a friends recommendation and it is a very slick program for only $99

How do you put a video on Active Rain? Do you have to do it through the HTML page and embed the video viewer there? I use ULEAD video editor ($125), it's easy to use and has a lot of features.

Gordie, you did great ! It gets easier, I can't get my photos to go in AR since the upgrade so I am holding off on doing a flip, even though I have done one for the contest.

Missy - Thanks for taking a look. Richard - I'll take a look at ULEAD. I posted my video on youtube and then embedded it on AR in the HTML page. It's pretty easy. Sam- Thanks for recommending the Adobe software. I have been impressed with the videos of yours that I have seen so far.

Christy- I don't care for looking at myself on video, but I don't mind doing the "performing." I would much rather be the voice behind the images than the image itself.

Great Video...so what's the verdict?  Should I go buy one?  Any downside?

Thanks;
