There is no shortage of wine festivals and events featuring red wines in the Northbay. The Alsace Festival is a little different because it features mostly white wines as are produced in the Alsace region of France such as:
- Gewurztraminer
- Riesling
- Pinot gris
- Pinot blanc
- Muscatel
Winemakers and owners are present to talk about their different varietals, and vintages. Generous tastings are poured and plenty of complimentary food is available. 2017 tickets were $90 each.
The event is held at the Boonville Fairgrounds in Mendocino at the end of February and features wines from approx 30 wineries up and down the state of California. Some wineries came up from as far south as Santa Barbara, and a few from southern Oregon were present.
The Alsace Festival is a must do for consumers who enjoy German style white wines.
